## Supported Environments

The built-in installer targets common systemd-based Linux distributions.

 * Ubuntu
 * Debian
 * RHEL family distributions
 * Rocky Linux
 * AlmaLinux
 * Fedora
 * Other systemd-based Linux systems

## System Requirements

| Item | Requirement |
| OS | systemd-based Linux |
| CPU architecture | Must match the provided binary. The common distributed binary targets x86_64 |
| Privilege | Root privilege during installation |
| Network | Outbound HTTPS access to `api.telegram.org` |
| Account | A local Linux account that will run the shell |

## Outside the Built-In Installer Scope

The built-in `install` command is not intended for these environments:

 * Non-systemd Linux systems such as Alpine OpenRC
 * Windows
 * macOS
 * Containers that do not run systemd
 * Multiple services on one server using the same default `rtmn.service` name

Use [Account-Isolated Installation](https://ubient.dscloud.biz/docs/ubient-software/rtmn/requirements/./06-account-isolated-install.md)
when multiple account-specific instances are required.

## Network Requirements

`rtmn` uses the Telegram Bot API, so the server must be able to make outbound HTTPS
requests to Telegram.

    ```ubient-docs-code
    server -> https://api.telegram.org
    ```

In firewall, proxy, or NAT environments, verify outbound TCP 443 connectivity.

## Privilege Requirements

Root privilege is required for installation, but the service should normally run
as a non-root account.

Recommended structure:

    ```ubient-docs-code
    root
      -> manages the systemd service
      -> protects the environment file
    service user
      -> runs shell commands
      -> writes audit logs
    ```
